Found this gem of a recipe online. Hope you like it! Let me know what you guys think about it. Let’s prepare this famous beef broccoli in our kitchen.
3/4 lb. steak cut into 1/8 inch thick strips
1 clove of garlic, peeled and smashed
1 thumb-sized ginger, smashed
Filippo Berio Extra Light Tasting Olive Oil, 3 tbsp.
1-2 lbs. broccoli
Whisk together 1/3 cup each of oyster sauce and sherry or any red wine, then add 2 teaspoons of sesame oil and 1 teaspoon each of soy sauce, sugar and cornstarch. Stir well to evenly distribute the district flavor.
1. Place the steaks into the marinade, stir to coat well and place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
2. Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat and stir in the smashed ginger and smashed garlic. Let it sizzle in the hot oil for about 1 minute to flavor the oil, then removed and discard, leaving the flavored oil.
3.Stir and toss the broccoli florets in the hot oil until bright green and almost tender for 5-7 minutes. Remove the broccoli from the wok and set aside.
4. Pour a little more oil into the wok if needed and stir and toss the beef with its marinade until the sauce forms a glaze on the beef for about 5 minutes until the meat is no longer pink.
5. Return the cooked broccoli to the wok and stir until the meat are heated through about 3 minutes. Enjoy with brown rice and your favorite red wine, keep it to 4 ounces. Please, no more than that. Enjoy! Sarap!
