As usual I wanted to show off the fleeting signs of summer: this is a make ahead of time recipe from the September 2015 issue of Dr. Oz’s magazine, a very healthy, stress-free breakfast for all of us because we can prepare it the night before or even on the weekend. I always prepare this in our kitchen and it always finishes fast, so I prepare 2 batches of this recipe all the time. Let’s make a stress free breakfast…..
1 cup old-fashioned Quaker Oats
1 tbsp. chia seeds
1 and 1/4 cups almond milk
1 tbsp. honey or Blue Agave Sweetener
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
A pinch of Himalayan pink salt
A pinch of nutmeg for a tinge of spice (optional)
1. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl.
2. Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.
3. In the morning, stir the oats and put in clear glasses and garnish with banana, blueberries, and cacao nibs.
